Artist Spotlight: Who is Serge Devant?

With our new Deep Afro House Cover of the legendary track "Addicted" just dropping, let’s take a quick look at the incredible story of the man behind the original masterpiece!

From Classical Music to the Underground: Born in St. Petersburg, Serge Devant started his journey with 8 years of classical piano training. When he moved to New York City in the '90s, he fell head over heels for the city’s legendary club scene (Twilo, Sound Factory, Tunnel) and instantly hooked onto vinyl culture. The Rise & The Big Breakthrough: By the 2000s, he became the youngest resident DJ at New York’s world-famous Crobar, landing a spot on the DJ Mag Top 100, with Tiësto even naming him one of his top 5 favorite DJs. Around that time, he released the original hit "Addicted" (featuring Hadley on vocals), which became a massive global club anthem. The Accident That Changed Everything: Following a severe snowboard injury that sidelined him for a year, Serge used his recovery time to completely re-evaluate his sound. Inspired by the transformational vibe of Burning Man, he stepped away from the mainstream big-room sound and pivoted entirely into the underground, deep, and tech-house scene. Where He Is Today: He is now one of the most respected names in the deep scene, with releases on top-tier underground labels like Damian Lazarus’s Crosstown Rebels and Hot Since 82’s Knee Deep In Sound, while regularly playing Ibiza’s biggest parties (Circoloco, Paradise). Fun Fact: His classical piano background is exactly why his tracks always feature such deep, emotional, and sophisticated chord progressions something we truly tried to honor in our own cover version! Have you heard the original "Addicted"? How do you feel about his evolution into the deep underground sound? Let us know in the comments ...
